Certified B Corp: Growing a business with purpose
TreeStory was born because we wanted to change how forestry is done in Scotland. For us, that meant working with nature instead of against it, building a future where people and the planet can thrive together. Too often, forestry has focused on short-term financial gain with little thought for the bigger picture. We knew there was a better way, and that belief is what still drives us today.
After seven years of growth, learning and very exciting projects, we are proud to share that TreeStory is now a Certified B Corporation. We achieved a B Impact Score of 92.4, well above the certification threshold of 80!
About B Corp
The B Corp movement is about using business as a force for good. Certification looks at the whole picture, from governance and people to community and impact.
Becoming a B Corp was about joining a movement that reflects our values. Certification lets us stand alongside other businesses who share that vision and gives us a clear and recognisable way to show that we are different from business as usual. Our approach goes beyond planting trees: It is in how we work, the choices we make, and the relationships we build that makes us who we are.
A first for Scotland’s forestry sector
We’re proud to be leading the way, becoming the first forestry consultancy based in Scotland to achieve B Corp certification. Becoming a B Corp has shown us that forestry consultancy can evolve, by embracing values that restore nature and benefit communities. This achievement is personal too. It’s proof that the work we do every day with our clients and partners is part of something inspiring and hopeful.
Looking ahead
Becoming part of the B Corp movement is only the beginning. It marks the start of a new and exciting chapter, where we will keep learning, growing and staying true to the values that have shaped TreeStory.
Our forests and land matter, and so does how we care for them. This milestone is another step in showing that businesses, like woodlands, can grow in ways that are healthy and resilient.
